Sisters - Camp Sherman Fire District

The Sisters-Camp Sherman Fire District provides fire protection and emergency services to the communities of Sisters, Camp Sherman, and the surrounding area. Covering 240 square miles in the Deschutes National Forest, this region faces a significant wildfire risk during the hot, dry summer months.

Public Contact Information

Nestled in the heart of Central Oregon, the Sisters-Camp Sherman Fire District provides fire protection and emergency services to the communities of Sisters, Camp Sherman, and the surrounding area. Covering 240 square miles in the Deschutes National Forest, this region faces a significant wildfire risk during the hot, dry summer months.

To meet these challenges, the District relies on an exceptional team of dedicated volunteers and professionals. With two stations strategically located in Sisters and Camp Sherman, firefighters can rapidly respond to calls day and night. The District’s 45 volunteers and 5 career staff undergo rigorous training to stay prepared for medical emergencies, structure fires, wildland fires, rescues, and other response needs.

In addition to emergency services, the District places a strong emphasis on community risk reduction through fire prevention education, preparedness programs, and fuel mitigation projects. Partnerships with organizations like Firewise Communities, Keep Oregon Green, Project Wildfire, and the Boy Scouts help promote a culture of fire safety. The District also works closely with local landowners to make properties and communities more resistant to wildfire through Firewise construction techniques and fuel reduction.

With a deep commitment to protecting lives, homes, infrastructure, forests and wildlands, the Sisters-Camp Sherman Fire District strives to serve as responsible stewards of this uniquely fire-prone environment. Our personnel look forward to continuing a tradition of exceptional service and community collaboration.
