The Winchester Bay Rural Fire Protection District (WBRFPD) serves Winchester Bay with fire, rescue, and EMS services. It also provides contracted services to Salmon Harbor and the dunes, covering a population of 400 in winter and up to 5,000 in summer. The fire hall, located at Sixth Street and Broadway Avenue, houses two fire trucks, a rescue vehicle, and three ATVs for dune rescues. The department, staffed by 14 volunteers, responds to approximately 158 alarms annually.
