Toledo Fire Department & Rural Fire Protection District

Backyard burning is open. Registering with the Toledo Fire District is required for burn piles inside the Fire District. To register for a burn permit, please read the information below, complete and submit the form at the bottom of the page. Submission of your registration is all that is required for your standard burn permit for the year.

We provide fire suppression, emergency medical and rescue response, fire & life safety education, fire prevention inspections and other services as needed.

The Toledo Fire Department (TFD) provides emergency response and services to the City of Toledo and the surrounding community. 

Services include: 

  • Fire protection 
  • Medical services
  • Disaster management 


The TFD is closed when an emergency is in progress.
