The South Sherman Fire District serves over 387 square miles in southern Sherman County, Oregon, known for its dry conditions and challenging terrain. The district is entirely volunteer-operated, with approximately 25 members under the leadership of Chief Andy Miller. The district’s fleet includes various specialized vehicles for fire protection, including brush trucks and water tenders. The district is overseen by an elected Board of Directors, each serving a four-year term.
